We all have baggage from our past that we carry around, until one day something happens, and we realize we can lay it down and lighten our load. Many times, though, healing our past hurts comes through a gradual process that is intangible to the senses when it is happening.
A college education is more than academic learning. It is not only a preparation for your future life, but it is an exercise in understanding your past and present. It is a great way to enrich your life in every way, but only if you take full advantage of it and embrace it. Love the learning process- ALL of it. Take it on as a life challenge that will enhance the very essence of who you are and what you can achieve in life. If you do this, your life will take on new meaning and become a fabulous journey that you will enjoy!
Now back to those hurts and baggage from the past. Mine is different from yours. We all have them though. even though you may be a young, new student and me a 45-year-old mother who has gone back to school, we have in common that we are pursuing our dreams, and we have a past. Let your college education be more than just academic learning! You decide that you will use your time in school to make yourself grow as a person and lay down anything from your past that will hinder you from going as far as your dreams will take you.
