A Mother

One night’s pleasure,
life is beginning, soon to treasure
come what may, that one specific day
through the pain and tears,
she bears life beyond her years.
Is it a boy?
Is it a girl?
With care and love to no end,
not knowing what’s around the bend.
Through constant worry, she stands tall.
Never in a hurry,
always giving her all.
As the time goes on, a child moves on.
She grows weak, and she grows weary.
‘Til that one day, the Lord by her side,
she’s on her way.
She will always abide.
