Salt spilled on the counter,
There’s plastic in our flounder,
as the garbage man
scoops up the day old bread.

Our water needs boiling,
and fluoride and the chlorine
pump from every faucet head.

Eat steel EPA
on the cutting board enclave
ground down for the military way.

The molten pot boils over
the feet of congressmen,
as they scamper to their cars
like rats from the light.
