A Hillsborough Community College Student Publication since 1978.
You are cordially invited to celebrate with us the pages
of the 2008 TRIAD.
As you read through these pages, we hope you enjoy the explosion of colors and fireworks that set the mood for this eclectic celebration.
In this year’s TRIAD, we are celebrating life, people, and the arts.
HCC has reached a milestone: 40 years of educating the future professionals of America. These students are the protagonists of TRIAD 2008. Their photographs, paintings, poems, and articles fill the pages of this magazine. Through their work, we can appreciate the diversity that surrounds us. Stories in this publication teach us about customs with which we may be unfamiliar. We can learn about the interesting lives of different people from our community. We can applaud people who have overcome the worst times and are trying to live better lives. Students have written about hot topics around the Tampa Bay area as well as around the nation. Our art gallery displays a collection of work from talented HCC artists.
Putting this magazine together has been a fulfilling experience. Each submission we received and each story we wrote taught us something new. Although negative things happen everywhere, there is always plenty to celebrate and to be thankful for. This magazine is the product of our hard work and dedication, and seeing it come to life is inspiring.
The people in our lives are a motive for celebration. We thank our families for their support and for understanding how time-consuming this task can be. Thanks to our adviser Valerie Zell for always asking for more than what we think we can give; She taught us to never limit ourselves. And to our adviser, Richard Gaspar, thank you for giving us the creative freedom to express ourselves in whatever way we choose.
