Is it common to be as apathetic as me when faced with a world in need?
It is easy to ignore the agony of war and the corruption of corporate greed.
I find life more fun when I sit in the sun and read a book about faeries and gnomes.
I’ll switch off the news, for I’d rather be amused than to hear of people losing their homes.
I don’t go to the polls ‘Cause that’s not “how I roll” and from civic duty, I will run.
You must think me dumb, but I swear I’m not numb just your average American.
