Confidence and Independence: The Language of the Brag

By Carrie Kolba

I am a woman, aggressive and cunning. I use my mind, body, and soul to achieve whatever needs to be done. I don’t lie, cheat, or steal my way through life. I’m honest, and I have principles.

I’m soft and hard in certain places, feminine and great to behold. I know I’m smarter and quicker than many people. I know it, and they know it. I’m not ignorant or stupid, so watch out you silly boys and your bags of toys. I am a woman who does not sit and stand by.

Eventually, I will catch up. I won’t lie down. I will stand and fight. My body may be broken, bleeding, or in pain. My legs will always take me wherever I need to go.

I have always gone after what I wanted or needed. I don’t need to be taken care of. Me, myself, and I accomplish what needs to be done. I have always tried to be the best at everything I attempt to do. I have achieved something that no one can take away: confidence and independence in myself.
